Kentucky Watercolor
Society
The Kentucky Watercolor Society was formed in 1977 to promote water media as an important medium in the
arts community and provide support and educational opportunities for water media artists. To that end, KWS
sponsors exhibitions, competitions and workshops for professional, hobbyist, and beginning artists. The
Kentucky Watercolor Society is a non-profit, nationally recognized, all-volunteer organization. Browse through
our web pages and explore links (highlighted in yellow) to discover what KWS offers for both members and
non-members alike. You'll find information on upcoming workshops, competitions, membership, artists and our
KWS Gallery, a working gallery and home to the KWS studio and workshops,
located in the heart of beautiful Louisville, Kentucky.

KWS held its Reception and Award dinner for the
37th Annual National Exhibition on Nov. 7th 2014. We
had a full house with many visitors from out of town.
.  Our show was judged by Frederick C. Graff, one
of the foremost watercolorists of today. He is a
Miami University graduate and is a retired teacher. He
has conducted workshops throughout the US and
Actors Theatre, thanks to the partnership with
Roanne Victor, Director of The Gallery at Actors
Theatre of Louisville.
Sue Hinkebeine performed her magic as Chairperson
of Aqueous and made everything happen smoothly.
What a big job this is and so appreciated by KWS.
She had the help of many people throughout the
entire process, which helped make a wonderful
show. If you would like a copy of the catalog with
pictures of the paintings call or email Sue at
502.458.5043 or email suehinkebein@hotmail.com
If you do want to purchase a book you can have it
mailed for $7/ea or you can pick up from Sue for
$5/ea.....What a Deal and they are GREAT!!!!!
Becoming a signature member is not an easy task to acccomplish. It takes a lot of hard work and heart to keep your head, heart and soul

congratulate them for their accomplishment.  Artist Edgar Degas said it best, "Art is not what you see, but what you make others see."
